This month's meeting with be held on Thursday instead of Wednesday due to scheduling conflicts. The meeting will be held at the Comcast facility located at 8251 North Cortaro Road, about a block west of I-10.
Doug Tharp from SCMS will be presenting a new console from PR&E called the Oasis.

SBE Chapter 32 Meeting for April
Please join us for the April SBE Chapter 32 meeting on April 16th, 12-2PM at the Clear Channel facilities located at 3202 North Oracle Road.
Our presenters will be Ron Lane and Bob Band of Harris. They will be discussing some of their new Intraplex equipment.

February Meeting Summary and March Meeting notice
SBE Chapter 32 held the February meeting at KMSB-TV. Thanks to Walcott Denison for hosting the meeting at his facility as well given members a tour.
Frank Grundstein of Logitek gave a presentation on IP Technology and how Logitek's equipment can handle the growing needs of Radio and TV facilties. Frank brought with him the Jet Mini router system as well as the Pilot console. Frank talked about some of the advantages of IP technology and how Logitek is working on partnerships with other companies to allow their equipment to integrate seemlessly to allow the end user a cleaner installation that can be set up in minutes rather than days or weeks.
Ken Benner spoke briefly about the start of the ABIP (Alternate Broadcast Inspection Program) that starts on 3/1. He gave some quick tips on having a successful inspection which includes items that have the highest percentage of lead to failing an inspection.
Next month's SBE Chapter 32 meeting will be held at Citadel Broadcasting's facility located at 575 W. Roger Road. The meeting will be held on March 24th from 6-8 PM.
Al Salsi from SAS will be our featured presenter. Al will talk about their M-Class console as well as some of thier turret panels and intercom systems. Al will have a very interesting demo that you will not want to miss. I will keep you in suspense so you will not want to miss this meeting.

December's SBE Chapter 32 meeting was held at the Clear Channel facilities.
Mike Irby, Chapter 32 Chairman, welcomed everybody and introduced the newly elected officers.

Mike introduced Ken Benner and Ken explained the he does proctoring for SBE certification exams. Ken also mentioned that he will be starting the FCC voluntary inspections in March. If anybody is interested they should call Ken or the Arizona Broadcasters Association.
Jay Brentlinger of Orban gave a presentation about their 8585 Surround Sound audio processor for TV as well as the Optimod 6300 Digital Audio Processor for Radio. Jay also gave some backround on the upgrades that will be added in time for NAB.
There were 16 people in attendance. That is great! We welcome any and all people interested in attending. Feel free to invite people that may not have heard about the Chapter being restarted. They can email sbe.chapter32@gmail.com and they will be added to the mailing list.
The next meeting will be held at the Pima County EOC located at 10 Congress Street, Level B Tucson, AZ 85701 (520) 798-0600 on January 28, 2010 from 6-8 PM.
Updates on EAS and the CAP protocol will be given as well as a tour of the facility. Chapter business will be discussed along with updates on the Chapter.

Welcome to SBE Chapter 32!

Dan was kind enough to give the attendees a tour of the facilities after the main presentation was completed. Our featured presenter was Mr. Bruce Robertson of Digital Alert Systems. Bruce gave an overview of the EAS system from its start thru its current state and where we "should" be in the next year. Bruce included in his presentation his company's EAS equipment.
